Einstein 17: Opportunities

In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity. – Albert Einstein While in the Pacific Northwest, I learned to make flower essences and that some plants have helpful energies. In this belief system: Heartsease provides gentle comfort and solace for a broken heart. Bleeding Hearts vibrations release the pain of broken relationships. Self-Heal is a mint whose name means, โ€œthat with which one may cure oneself without the help of a surgeon.โ€ Snapdragons slay harsh and negative speech patterns. One of my most inspiring flowers is the Black-Eyed Susan. With its sun-gold petals radiating from a dark center, this perennial visually and beautifully expresses this weekโ€™s Einstein wisdom, that from life’s shadows, brightness can bloom. BTW, this flower discussion is not meant to replace medical advice but to offer fresh insights. As I was taught, flower essences have subtle, gradual and enduring effects. Use should be guided by those with substantial understanding of the practice. Read more about healing with flowers. Blessings & best wishes. Special Days This Week May 18thย isย No Dirty Dishes Day. This ballot also has a lot of referendums. I recently learned that of the 39 candidates running for the judge, the Bar Association considers some Highly Qualified to decide how our laws are enforced while others are Unqualified. Wherever you vote, keep in mind, anyone can get themselves on ballots then run marketing campaigns with nice slogans and attractive images that can be as misleading as ads promoting the benefits of cigarette smoking in the 1950s. Life Well Lived #10: Stumbles & Stepping High

When life offers lemons, make lemonade. The lemonย life delivered this week wasย my experiment with sweetening the Artisan Bread mentioned inย my last post. When a reader wrote that he was going to try the recipe, I advised: Adding sugar and dried fruits didn’t go well.ย Must run an advisory in next week’s post.ย Turned out a bit tangy.ย [Will stick with muffin recipes for that kind of thing.]ย Perhaps I used too much yeast for the heavier, non-wheat flours. Hereโ€™s how I made โ€˜lemonadeโ€™ from that bitter bread: Crumbled everything while watchingย Chopped-Beat Bobby Flay. Put all those crumbles on cookie sheets, baked them for four hours at 200 degrees. [They got really crunchy.] Madeย granola with this recipeย  Decided that was a way lot of maple syrup and honey for a couple servings [made with my dehydrated bread, it tasted like peanut brittle candy], so โ€ฆ Pulverized remaining crumbles in my seed-coffee grinder and now have fine-ground bread crumbs. Voila! Stumbles can be stepping stones. As the philosopher Johann Wolfgang von Geothe said, โ€œBy seeking and blundering, we learn.โ€ Learn what? Astronomer Carl Sagan suggestedย โ€œSomewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.โ€ Yeah! And, I promise, no more Artisan Bread posts!! * Commencement Speech Transcript * Write for Succeed and Soar Succeed and Soar’s next theme is “Love.” Twenty great quotes have been chosen as prompts.
